OUR WATER LOSS INVESTIGATIONS HAVE INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING:

Assessment of the root cause of leaks in mechanical systems such as: product defects, improper construction of mechanical system, construction activities, and freezing due to heating failure or defective construction of thermal envelope. We can provide opinions concerning applicability of codes and standards to installation and construction practices. We have also evaluated claims to determine if source of water is from underground or overland water infiltration.

Automatic fire protection system in a commercial building where repeated pipe freeze-ups in dry-pipe system occurred. Biehl Engineering reviewed system design, installation, and maintenance. Client was provided with a report detailing deficiencies and cause of loss.

X-Ray of a connection for a flexible mechanical system hose. X-Ray, high magnification, and other non-destructive techniques can be used to evaluate failed components and exemplar products to investigate possibility of product defects.

Flooded basement in a commercial building caused by street sewer construction and associated water main break. Biehl Engineering assisted client with opinions concerning construction practices and compliance with codes and standards.
